At present it is unclear what method is best suited to involve an extreme user group like young children in the design process. This PhD-project aims to determine which design methods are most appropriate for involving young children in the early stages of design process. A framework is being developed to match the skills of young children with the skills required for performing a design task. The purpose of the experiments is to evaluate early design methods by assessing the design solutions of children on richness of information, ideation effectiveness and creativity.
