Perceptive Qualities

How to design for perceptive qualities in systems of interactive products?

In this research we ask the question if and how notions out of phenomenology (Merleau-Ponty) could inform design. In forgoing research we showed how perceptive behaviour is evident in our daily life and how it can be applied when designing perceptive behaviour within objects. We now move to design for systems of interactive products. The goal is to provide knowledge and tools to design product-systems that are capable of perceptive activity and can engage in reciprocal interplay with the perceived world including multiple users and multiple products.
