Support at TU/e
Support can be obtained at different locations at the department of industrial design:
- ID Servicedesk: sells several phidget boards
- E-Atelier: information on how to connect phidget sensors and actuators to the TU/e pic board, borrow more advanced phidgets.
- Outdated (?): A set of lecture notes that consists of a compilation of tutorials that help you getting started with Flash and Phidgets is available here. Also the handout for the ID master on ambient intelligence contains some worked out demos and references for learning flash and phidgets.
Online support
Many questions related to flash and phidgets can also be answered by searching or posting your questions on one of the many forums on internet:
Support for coaches and assignors (Outdated?)
- Presentations:
- A set of lecture notes that consists of a compilation of tutorials that helps students getting started with Flash and Phidgets is available here. It is up to the domain to distribute this document among the students, or provide printed copies from the TU/e printservice. A printed manual is cheaper for the students than printing themselves, prevents over-use of printers in the domain and forms a bigger stimulance to read the documentation as preparation to the workshop, but the coaches are responsible for distribution.
Phidget applications (Outdated?)
- PhidgetKeySercice (Beta 1.0):
Simple application that generates keyboard events based on sensor values. This means that you can very easily interface with existing applications by using shortcuts. For example you can define that a sensor value that drops below 100 on port 0 generates a CTRL+X event, resulting in a cut-action in word. A help file is included. - MSN Messenger Plus! Live plugin (Beta 1.0)
A special phidget plugin has been created that interfaces with MSN Messnger Plus! live. By using java-scripts, phidgets can be controlled from withing MSN. For example, special emoticons can be used to change the lighting in the room by using a LED64 board, or the MSN SMS functions can be used to control Phidgets from your mobile phone. A demo version of this script is available on request (A.F. Rovers).
