International Relations

The Industrial Design International Office (IDInterOffice@remove-this.tue.nl, HG 2.74) provides support for staff and students on several aspects of International Relations.

For staff:

  • Agreements with other universities: If you have contacts at universities, and you want to expand the collaboration, for example concerning student exchanges, or teacher mobility, then you are welcome to contact Yolanda Hübner. She can advise you on the options, for example concerning an Erasmus Bilateral Agreement, and help you in the procedure of formulating and finalizing agreements.
  • Inviting students from partner universities: If you are in contact with a student from a partner university, and you would like to invite this student to Industrial Design to participate in an internship-like project, or to come and do an exchange, then please contact Yolanda Hubner about this. Yolanda can provide support in this.

For Industrial Design students:
At Industrial Design Block B31 is the standard Block during which students can go abroad for their study as one of the options for their minor (for example for an exchange or a project at a partner university. In Block M21 students also may have the opportunity to do an exchange or a project at a partner university abroad, by requesting to change the composition of their Block. Students in other Blocks can get the chance to do a project at a partner university if this is part of the project that they are assigned to.

  • Related to Block B31: Please first check Minor in B3.1 for more detailed information concerning options for your B31 Block. Yolanda Hübner can help you with further questions concerning an exchange or a project at a partner university.
  • Related to Block M21: Please always discuss your plans for your M21 Block with your coach. If you decide that you want to spend part of your Block at a partner university and would like more information about arranging this, or about existing contact persons between Industrial Design and the partner, you are welcome to contact Yolanda Hübner. When the plans for you Block become clear you can make a request to the Board of Examiners allowed to change the composition of your M21 Block. Yolanda Hübner can advise you in this procedure.
  • Related to other Blocks: Students in other Blocks will in principal only have the chance to do a project at a partner university if this is part of the project (description) of the project that they are assigned to. For all Bachelor Blocks and for Blocks M11 and M12, the coaches within the themes formulate these project descriptions. They will have the contacts with the partner university, and will make the agreements about the content of the project. In Block M22 you will be doing your Final Master Project. It is possible that (part) of this project takes place at a partner university. Discuss this option with your coach, and add your plans to your FMP proposal. If you have questions about contacts with partner universities or about finalising your arrangements to go abroad, you are welcome to contact Yolanda Hübner.
