d./search-labs

In the knowledge economy, education, research and innovation are key aspects. They are the three parts that make up the ‘Knowledge Triangle’. To integrate these three parts in the context of Ambient Intelligence, the department of Industrial Design at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) is setting up the /d.search-labs.

The /d.search-labs is the playing field of the faculty of Industrial Design where research, education and innovation meet and where they join together in exciting and innovative design projects. The outcomes of the projects become part of the /d.search-labs and contribute to a better understanding of the value and challenges of Ambient Intelligence. To facilitate promising projects and realize the outcomes the /d.search-labs offer a well equipped proto-typing facility, studio-environments and multiple contextual spaces for researchers, designers, students and guests from industry and society.Designing for Ambient Intelligence is a global activity. Therefore the /d.search-labs collaborate with NUS in Singapore, RMIT in Melbourne Australia, and CMU and Georgia Tech in the United States. On Super Tu/esday, October 24, 2006 the /d.search-labs were officially launched. Soon this website will feature all the latest activities from the /d.search-labs.
