For examples and common used (sub)project the site Picano is a useful source. It is still under construction, but already very useful.
Within the microcontroller assigment the USB microcontrollerboard is used since 2005-2006. This board has the advantage that it contains an USB connector. With this connector the microcontroller can be programmed with any modern computer using the USB port.
