Design research

The department of industrial design pays a lot of attention to research through design. ‘The Industrial Design department, in the context of Dutch technical universities, belongs, together with TU Delft Industrial Design department to the leading design research centres in Europe’. (Design report, April 2007) The department has 4 research groups covering the aspects that are taken into account when designing innovative, intelligent products, systems and services. The department realizes many conferences such as DPPI and Desform and seminars so far and has over 30 PhD students.
